What is equitable distribution in Georgia?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

Equitable distribution in Georgia is the standard by which marital assets and liabilities are divided. That doesn’t necessarily mean 50-50. It means what’s fair and equitable under all of the circumstances of your individual case. That’s why it’s important to work with your attorney to make sure you have an inventory of all the assets and liabilities of the marriage to make sure that they’re each addressed as appropriate in the facts and circumstances of your case.
