Can alimony be modified or terminated in Georgia?

Transcript:
Alimony can be modified or terminated in Georgia under certain circumstances. In some instances, the decree or the settlement agreement will provide that alimony expires upon a certain term. It can also expire upon the death of either party, or the remarriage of the recipient, or the cohabitation of the recipient in a meretricious relationship. These can also be waived as part of a settlement agreement, so it’s important to consult with your attorney when you’re reaching an agreement to determine when and how alimony terminates.
