How is property divided in Georgia?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

In Georgia, all marital property is to be divided equitably. The law states that equitable means what’s fair and reasonable under the circumstances, not necessarily 50/50. Accordingly, it’s very important that you work with your attorney, to come up with a complete accounting of all of your marital assets, to make sure that each one is addressed and divided equitably as part of the divorce proceedings.
